ADARAC™ Truck Bed Rack Tips
Pickups Rack Best Practices and Recommendations
Know Your Limits
Never exceed weight limits. If your vehicle and rack have different load ratings, always use the lower number. Rack weight counts toward total payload, never exceed your Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or Gross Axle Weight Ratings. Some truck boxes require a reinforcing kit, check with your dealership before install.
Check Clearance
Always verify your vehicle total height and width, loaded or empty, before entering areas with limited clearance, whether your rack is loaded or empty, including garage doors, low bridges, tree branches, drive-thrus or car washes.
Distribute Evenly
Drive cautiously with a load, high-mounted weight can reduce vehicle stability and affect handling. Distribute weight evenly side to side and center the heaviest items over the axle.
Securing Cargo
Utilize integrated tie-down points on your rack. Add load dividers, tie downs or cleats if extra anchor points are needed. Most accessories with in-channel, over-channel or U-bolt clamps are compatible, though longer mounting bolts may be necessary for proper installation.
Inspection
Firmly tug each cargo piece from multiple angles to confirm it’s secure and won’t shift. Periodically recheck your load, especially after driving on rough roads or significant temperature changes, to ensure everything remains secure.
